Welcome to Latinity! We’re excited to be presenting Latinity virtually in Rec Room this year. We recommend setting up Rec Room ahead of time to ensure you don’t miss any of the conference!
- Download Rec Room!
Rec Room is available on a variety of platforms: Playstation 4 (including PSVR) and Playstation 5, Xbox, iOS, Android, and Steam (including SteamVR). Search the store on your chosen platform for “Rec Room” and download it.
- Set up an account!
You will start by creating an avatar. Click “All Set” when you’re happy with the way you look!
Next, you will be asked for your birthday. You can use the arrows, or click in any of the boxes for faster entry. (Rec Room uses this to provide Junior accounts to children under 13.)
Next, choose a username, or use the die button to have a random name assigned. Please remember this name in case you need assistance later! Then, set a password for your account.
If you have friends that play Rec Room on the platform you’re playing on (for example, Steam friends or PSN friends), you will be given an option to add them as friends in Rec Room.
Please read and agree to the Code of Conduct, and then you will be able to access the tutorial!
- Play through Orientation to complete the tutorial.
Orientation will teach you how to move and look around, navigate spaces within Rec Room, and how to interact with others and with objects in the game.
When you reach the end of Orientation and receive your watch, you will be able to visit Latinity!
- Search for Latinity in the Play menu!
At the end of Orientation, you should be prompted to choose a room to visit. You can use the search button at the top right, and search for Latinity! Click on the Latinity button and choose “Visit Room”. Once you’ve joined, you will be able to see all the upcoming events and meet with others at the conference. (LATINITY room is not ready yet, but we’ll let you know!)
